During my writing process for any book, I create other materials and artifacts that I consider part of the mystery story’s “case file.” The case file consists of photographs, sketches, maps, and other artifacts that I create either to solidify in my mind a certain look of a character or setting, or to provide additional clues to the reader or simply to assist me in maintain a consistent backstory for a setting entity like a town, company, house as well as to compile a character’s backstory.
Below are the various documents I created during the writing of my novel Along the River Road. Some of these were intended for use within the book while others were created as part of my own writing process. To be sure, I do not claim to be any good at all at drawing, so what you see is most definitely my own work (as no one else would want to claim it!). I decided to provide some of these artifacts to you as a way to satisfy any curiosities remaining after reading the book or to display the documents that actually contained clues not fully elaborated upon in the story. Click on the linked text to see the document.
Enjoy!
